Subject: [Tweeters] Common Murres and a juvenile Marbled Murrelet

Hi all,

Yesterday (6/23) our Marbled Murrelet survey crew checked out Carr Inlet and
Henderson Bay. While there were no Marbleds to be found we did see hundreds
of Common Murres, which I thought was unusual for the area. Most were in
groups of 5-20 and were either swimming or flying.

We also found our first juvenile MAMU of the season in Penn Cove outside of
Coupeville on Tuesday 6/22. Our partner crew in the San Juans found their
first juvenile MAMU in late May/early June. It's always exciting to see
juveniles in threatened bird populations!

Cheers,
