Hello Tweeties!

My husband and I made a quick escape to Jameson Lake this week.

Here's what I spied in the way of birds:

Yellow Headed Blackbird (my first one!)
Brewer's Blackbirds
Redwinged Blackbirds
Cowbirds
Doves (what kind would be over there?)
California Quail
Swallows (Cliff swallows?)
Ruddy Ducks
Redheaded Ducks
Northern Shovelers
Cormorants (Double Crested?)
Pied Billed Grebe
Two other larger variety of Grebe
Mud Hen/Coots
Crows
American Robins

Gulls - Mew? These gulls were making sounds that reminded me of a cat
in heat. Their calls were really weird.

Many R.O.U.S. swimming in the waters beneath the Cliffs of Insanity.
White Tailed Deer

A bull snake or gopher snake. It was about three feet long and looked
like a silvery white rope. It's markings were very "fine" - like they
were brushed in black on a shimmery pale silver background. (No photo,
it moved too fast)

And a turtle. It looked like a large red eared slider, but it didn't
have the red stripes on the sides of its head. Here's a link to a photo
