On Friday, Sherry and I went to Hardy Canyon and then explored Black Canyon after. We made a stop along the Tieton River where we had 2 HARLEQUIN DUCKS sitting on a log. On our way home there were 4 on the log. Another quick stop at Oak Creek for the WHITE-THROATED SWIFTS and the GOLDEN EAGLE.

We then proceeded up to Hardy Canyon, here we had
WESTERN WOOD PEWEE
LEAST FLYCATCHER - 2 (calling back and forth in the same place we had them last year with Andy)
PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER
WESTERN KINGBIRD
EASTERN KINGBIRD
WESTERN BLUEBIRD
YELLOW WARBLER
WESTERN TANAGER
BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK
BULLOCK'S ORIOLE

Then we headed over to Black Canyon where we explored the canyon by hiking the old road. It was a lot birdier that I had expected, but did not measure up to the butterfly palooza we had. Here we had
NORTHERN HARRIER chasing a Coyote
SOOTY GROUSE - 1 calling
CHUKAR - 3 (2 seen and 1 heard)
LONG-EARRED OWL - 3
LEWIS'S WOODPECKER
ROCK WREN
CHIPPING SPARROW
BREWER'S SPARROW
VESPER SPARROW
BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK
LAZULI BUNTING
BULLOCK'S ORIOLE
