Subject: [Tweeters] Wenas Road Ash-throated Flycatcher ?

Yesterday, Monday June 28th, I "birdied" Umtanum - and Wenas Roads. About a
mile or so past the Umtanum Creek WMA parking lot and coming from
Ellensburg, I spotted a large flycatcher. It looked like a Say's Phoebe, but
the habitat did not seem right. The bird was constantly moving and I was not
able to get my scope on it.
The location on Wenas Road is opposite YAS Bluebird box # 66, while Opperman
lists box # 63 as a good location for ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER. It is on
private property and if I recall correctly at "street" number 29541, behind
a locked gate. It is riparian habitat along the creek and at a bridge, which
appears to have been a railroad flatbed car at one time.
I would appreciate, if anybody who has recently birded the area and seen the
bird would let me and maybe Tweeters know! Also if you are going there in
the near future, please be on the look-out and try to ID it.

Good Birding!
