In a group of about 100 dunlin and 40 Black Turnstones I found 1 Rock Sandpiper on the pilings inside the Westport Marina. ?This is on the walkway that is near the large condo complex, where a lot of people are crabbing. ?A Marbled Godwit also showed up. ?After striking out in the morning at Westport I went to Tokeland. ?What was disturbing to see was the broken down dock that the Marbled Godwits frequently roost on was almost completely destroyed. ?This dock gives me close of opportunities for photos. ?Also the Godwits seem to like it a lot. ?I'm guessing that the laying of a pipe out to the crab processor had something to do with this destruction. ?There were no Godwits at Tokeland even though it was high tide. ?
