Today (01 MAR 10) another birder and I witnessed a Red-tailed Hawk pounce on and catch a rodent at the Montlake Fill. The bird was very close to us and gave great views. It had a silver/metal band on its right leg with what looks like 94 on it, but I'm not sure. I was able to get some photos, including one of the band. Does anyone have ideas of what the band has on it or of this bird's history?
