Subject: [Tweeters] February 2010 turkey vulture count

Hi, Tweets

I guess it's time to tear myself away from the ever-fascinating local
crow population and back to vultures. The usual small vanguard of
turkey vultures has arrived on their northward migration with many
more to follow. Here are the sightings for February 2010 from
Washington and British Columbia.

February 2010

06 -- 1 adult over the nw corner of Lake Washington
14 -- 1 at the mouth of the Columbia River
16 -- 1 over the Shelly Road side of the Englishman River Estuary, B.C.
18 -- 1 over I-5 in Federal Way; 1 at Surrey, B.C.
20 -- 1 north of Sequim
22 -- 1 over the Vancouver Aquarium in Stanley Park, B.C.
24 -- 1 over Geiren Creek in Sequim

Most of the sightings were "first of the year" for observers. I
haven't seen one yet so will keep watching.
All reports are most welcome.

Cheers, Diann
