What a great day to do yard work! Early this morning there were 10 or so
singing Varied Thrushes along with the Robins. I was later serenaded by
Purple Finches and Red Crossbills milling around in the tops of the fir
trees today. These are first of the year singing Purple Finches in my
neighborhood for me. The Crossbills are quite vocal today and seem to show
up a couple of times a week this time of year. I haven't been able to come
up with a pattern yet.
