Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday March 11. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

Among the more regular species the March 6 offshore boat trip out of Newport
found two LAYSAN ALBATROSS, two SHORT-TAILED SHEARWATERS, 118 KITTIWAKES,
and 33 ANCIENT MURRELETS.
Up to 60 BROWN PELICANS were seen during the week at Yaquina Bay. The main
RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD movement reached the Portland area during the week. On
March 10 a bright male CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD was in Newberg.
A male TUFTED DUCK with a conspicuous tuft was seen during the week on Drano
Lake at the mouth of the White Salmon River in the Columbia River Gorge. On
March 8 a MOCKINGBIRD was in Klamath Falls. On March 6 two BLACK PHOEBES
were at the Lower Klamath NWR exit on Stateline Road.
