Fine photo of a female Barrow's Goldeneye! The all pale/yellow bill and longer feathers on the nape are about as diagnostic for Barrow's as you could hope for. The bill usually darkens during the nesting season.

This duck was dabbling around near the Mukilteo lighthouse and since it has a bright yellow bill I think it should be a Barrow's except the other plumage doesn't seem to match - help someone ?
