Subject: [Tweeters] Rock Pigeons in the Afternoon

So it was like this: I was driving home from the supermarket feeling lucky that they had not run out of Vanilla Swiss Almond ice cream. Turning on to Government Way heading west, in a contented mood, I watched three Rock Pigeons flapping their wings deeply, gliding along, turning and cavorting. Enjoying the sight I looked at the closest one again, slowly realising it was actually a Peregrine Falcon. Could it be hunting? Looking at the other pigeons in the group it was now clear that all three pigeons were actually Peregrine Falcons. Turning steeply they raced off towards the Ballard Bridge. Please help me all you falcon watchers out there, was this a courtship competition, a parent flying with fledged young or something else? The birds seemed small as if they might be males. Thanks for the help - pretty birds, pigeons, I say.
