Thanks Carol for getting me out of the house on such a beautiful day.
Unfortunately I?ve not seen a Red-faced Cormorant on several scans from
Browns Point and along 509 of the NE shore of Commencement Bay. Many fellow
birders showed up to have a look, which made for great conversation, but
without success. Species seen included: Pelagic Cormorant, Brandt?s
Cormorant, Double-crested Cormorant, Glaucous-winged Gull, Olympic Gull, Mew
Gull, California Gull, Pigeon Guillemot, Horned Grebe, Red-necked Grebe,
Red-throated loon, Bufflehead, Common and Barrow?s Goldeneye, Surf Scoter
and American Wigeon. Thanks again for letting me know about your possible
find, and I will continue to scan the region tomorrow and this weekend.
