hey everyone,

here's a story that i wrote for my second, NEW blog, named Maniraptora, hosted at NATURE Network about Gulf pipefish and how size matters to the males when choosing their mates, because it's the MALES who become pregnant;

this is interesting because this sex role-reversed mating system research supports Darwin's ideas from 150 years ago about sexual selection. not only does this blog entry contain lots of fun pictures, but it also has a very wonderfully produced video about the research, thanks to NATURE.

(yes, i am bragging about writing at NATURE as well as at ScienceBlogs; after years of writing about science, it's really a thrill!)
