Well, s/he has been adopted by the pub across the street. After telling
staff about "don't use flash, don't talk loudly", etc, they have taken our
owl into their bosom... Every 10 minutes or so, someone from the pub comes
over with a customer, shows off the owl in a mostly-quiet manner...

While I was there, s/he hawked a pretty good-sized pellet; if anyone wants
to know what s/he is eating, the pellet isn't going to walk away on its own
:)
