Tweets,
Did an early Spring (late Winter?) hike and bird to the Eastern slope of the Cascades. Westberg Trail well described in Mountaineers book "Best Desert Hikes" and on the Washington Trails Assoc website. This trail gains 1800 ft in 2 miles without switchbacks (i.e., straight up). Great views of the Stuart Range. Spring is still a few weeks off there. Birds seen and/or heard:
Sooty Grouse
Northern Harrier
Red-tailed Hawk
American Kestrel
Downy Woodpecker
Northern Flicker
Say's Phoebe
