Hey tweets, fellow-birder Joe Bopp and I just had the rarest of
privileges: seeing a GOLDEN EAGLE soaring over Webster Point this
afternoon at the Fill. It came by around 3 p.m. I got great looks at
its golden head and nape. It was soaring and hovering over the land,
so I could see its really dark underwings and dark tail. (The light
was just a little too dim to see any faint banding in the tail, but
definitely there was no bright-white in the tail, , nor were there any
white patches on the underwings, so this was not a juvenile.) When it
banked, Joe and I managed to see a little golden dusting on the upper
side of the wings.

As far as I know, this is the first Golden Eagle ever seen from the
Fill. - Connie, Seattle
