Hi Tweets,

Seasickness prevented you from plumping up your life list? Birding from a
cruise ship may be the ticket!

A small group of WA birders are going on a repositioning cruise from LA to
Vancouver on April 29 (Thurs) through May 2 (Sun). This Holland America
cruise will include two full days of pelagic birding well offshore during
spring tubenose movement on a platform stable enough for spotting scopes!
Lists from previous Spring trips have been really impressive, including
good luck of *Pterodroma*. Last year was *really* good with 35 Murphy's, 2
Mottled, 1-2 SOLANDER'S (apparently was accepted by OBRC), and a Cook's,
plus a half-dozen each of Laysan Albatross and Manx Shearwater, all in
one day! Most trips aren't nearly that good, but the year before they also
saw several Murphy's. Nothing is guaranteed but chances are good.

I was going to go but my roommate backed out last minute *just* before I
bought tickets. Interior rooms are $169/person (all inclusive) based on
double-occupancy. One-way flight to Long Beach and the train back from
Vancouver are additional but everything is included on the cruise. This
group is flying direct from Seattle to Long Beach on Alaska on the morning
of the 29th (about $115). That flight might be full but numerous other
flights are available to LAX.

Interested in going? Please let me know AS SOON AS POSSIBLE so that I can
book our room. I promise to be a good roommate - I am house-trained and a
non-snorer (and at this point I don't care if you do either). Should be a *
really* cool trip.

Adam

and jaegers):
