On Sunday, I spent the afternoon checking Goodrich Rd., Big Hanaford Rd., and Lincoln Creek Rd. I started along Big Hanaford Rd. checking the ponds and fields. Still good water levels in the ponds which should be good for shorebirds next month. Some birds seen along the road are;

Northern Shoveler
Lesser Scaup
Ring-necked Duck
Bufflehead
American Kestrel
Red-tailed Hawk
Tree Swallow

Along Goodrich Rd. birding was slow. The pond is just about gone. Don't know if this will be a place for shorebirds as it has been in past years. Some birds seen here are;

Ring-necked Duck (in the slough)
Wood Duck (in the slough)
Tree Swallow
Scrub Jay
American Goldfinch
Black-bellied Plover (1 lonely looking bird wondering where all his friends went. I was thinking the same.)
American Pipit (1 flying over calling)

Lincoln Creek Rd. was very productive. Lots of ponds still with good water levels. Some birds seen here are;

Northern Pintail
American Wigeon
Green-winged Teal
Red-tailed Hawk
American Kestrel
Tree Swallow
Violet-green Swallow
Scrub Jay

On Teague Rd. and Lincoln Creek Rd. there were
Green-winged Teal
Red-breasted Sapsucker - 1
Greater Yellowlegs - 1
