Tweeters,
I MAY have had an eyebrowed thrush visit my yard in Everett this afternoon. HOWEVER, most likely this bird was an abberant robin reminiscent of the abberant robin that was at Pt. No Pt. a couple of years ago. It flew past my window, alighted briefly in a nearby shrub, then flew to a cherry tree nearby. I Grabbed the nearest binoculars and tried to get a satisfacory look at the bird, then realized that I should attempt to get a snapshot. I have only a point and shoot camera with zoom, so I crept outside and got off a few shots before the group disappeared. I sacrificed longer looks through binoculars attempting to get a photo. I did get one shot that might help identify the bird. It will take me a while to figure out how to make this image available to interested folks. Here's what I saw: The bird was somewhat smaller than the robins in the group, evenly colored grayish upperparts, (not brown or olive as in eyebrowed thrush), but lighter gray than robins. Belly white, chest and flanks "peachy", white eyebrow, white crescents beneath the eye, white throat with dark (black?) moustache, bill dark, legs dark. Did not vocalize.
After the group moved on, I looked around the neighborhood and found quite a few robins but not the suspect. I'll be on the lookout for him tomorrow and subsequently, and if anyone is willing to pursue what may be a wild goose chase you are welcome to visit my yard.
