Subject: [Tweeters] Yellow-rumped Warblers arriving in Thurston Co

Tweets,
Today (Wednesday) I heard my first singing Yellow-rumped Warbler of the
season at my office in SE Olympia. So I take it as a migrant arriving or
passing through. Saturday, Mar 20 I heard a yellow-rump calling incessantly
at a known nesting site near Tenino. Since they've been absent thru the
winter, I conclude this is also a migrant arriving or passing through. At
this relatively inland location we get cooler (and warmer) temperatures than
near the sound, so some migrants (for instance, swallows) show up
considerably later. (I have been out very little so these may likely not be
first arrivals here.) Good birding!
