Hey All-

My partner and I took a walk through Discovery Park this afternoon. We didn't make it to the beach, but did a loop starting at the South Meadow. There was a Northern Shrike hunting along the NW edge- nice to see one this late in the season. My first of the year Orange-crowned Warbler was singing nearby. Along the Loop Trail near the military homes was a nice flock of small birds, including several warblers- most were Audubon's (both sexes), but there was at least one male Myrtle Warbler and a singing Townsend's Warbler. Rufous Hummers have taken up residence at most of the salmon berry patches throughout the park. A nice spring stroll overall.
