Hi Tweeters,

In the February issue of the Yakima Valley Audubon newsletter, the Calliope
Crier, Richard Repp, in his birds sightings report, quoted William Leon
Dawson from his "Birds of Washington", published in 1909, concerning his
thoughts about House Sparrows. It is a "must-read" for everyone who has
been following this thread on Tweeters.

You can read Richard's article in the on-line edition of the Crier at:

http://www.yakimaaudubon.org/crier_2010.htm

Click on "February 2010 Crier" and go to page 4.

I am sure you will enjoy reading Dawson's thoughts about House Sparrows and
also enjoy Richard's unimitable style in the birds sightings report. For
those of you who don't read Richard's contributions to BirdYak (
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/birdyak/), you are missing the musings of a
modern, birding Mark Twain!
