Tweets - I went down to Bonney Lake early this morning, only getting lost
twice, and found the ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK after waiting only 15 minutes or
so. Vicki and her husband were very friendly, and the bird was nice to see.

I then went down to Orting, birding the area along 150th Ave., south of
town. Looks like a really nice area, though I was unable to find Western
Meadowlarks that someone had put on eBird from there. There were a couple
of hundred CACKLING GEESE, a pair of AMERICAN KESTREL, and a NORTHERN
HARRIER. Also VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOW, WOOD DUCK, and singing SAVANNAH
SPARROW.

At Purdy, the tide was too low, and the wind was too hard to turn up
anything.

The bays around Raft Island held many HORNED GREBE in a bewildering array of
intermediate plumages, but I failed in my attempt to turn any into Eared
Grebe. There were several HARLEQUIN DUCK there, however. The trees
featured HUTTON'S VIREO and a PILEATED WOODPECKER.

I had all three CORMORANT species on Marineview Drive, about where the
Black-tailed Gull had been.

Dash Point pier had one PIGEON GUILLEMOT and one RHINOCEROUS AUKLET, but not
much else in the wind.

The upper (back) part of Dash Point State Park had a BARRED OWL that
wouldn't shut up.

On my way home, I swung by Emerald Downs (King Co.) where there were 9
GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE.
