This evening after the tide came in below Sunset Ave.,? an osprey flew by me headed north.? About two minutes later an eagle flew by me headed south.
The osprey dove for a fish about a quarter mile north of me at the spit where Shell Creek empties into the Sound.? As it headed south with the fish, a second eagle gave chase.? It appeared that the osprey flew into a distant tree and was being strafed by the eagle in much the same way eagles are strafed by crows.?
The osprey eventually flew off empty taloned.? I hope the eagles don't drive the osprey to fish elsewhere, as I was looking forward to photographing their diving for fish off Sunset Ave.
