For myself, it wasn't half-bad. For the eagles that live along the north
end of Lake Sammamish, apparently there was enough thermal to go soaring in
two spots (two eagles each), though I find myself wondering how when ambient
temperatures are in the low 40s at best...

Finally, there were a mother Mallard with about 10 chicks at the corner of
Leary and Bear Creek, just southwest of Redmond Towne Center. They were
crossing the street in rush-hour traffic, and traffic actually stopped for
them. Mother was hobbled by a bad leg, so she was limping along; the
youngsters stuck to her like glue. At the side of the road, Mom managed to
hop up the curb, then waited patiently while each chick had a go at an
obstacle close to twice their height.

Somehow, all perservered, and traffic was allowed to continue onward...
