Hi everyone,
A few times each year, I get a Lincoln's Sparrow (LISP)?in the yard for a day or so.? They are more skulky and shy than the other sparrows and finches from my observations anyway.? So it's always a treat when one is out in the open enough to allow for some shots.? This afternoon, a Lincoln's Sparrow popped into view and hopped into our recirculating stream right outside the kitchen window.? I grabbed the point-and-shoot and took a couple of photos through the window, figuring that opening the door or window would probably scare it away (it did - after I got some through-the-window shots, I tried sneaking up to the window and slowly opening it, and the bird immediately disappeared into the rhodies).? A couple of the shots turned out decently.? One is at http://www.tubbsphoto.com/-/tubbsphoto/detail.asp?photoID=10109879&cat=38992 ?if anyone cares to take a gander.? I like sparrows as a family, and LISP is one of my westside favorites.
