I photographed two of them in breeding plumage late this morning off the fishing pier in Edmonds.?? They were calling to each other with a funny sound, like a rubber ducky squeeze toy.??? The two rhinoceros auklets which have been hanging around all spring were still out there as well.

Just a heads up for Seattleites - There were two MARBLED MURRELETS working the shore at Golden Gardens Park today, offering excellent close-up views. Last time I had looks like this was in a kayak. Still some Brant around, and a few migrants - Orange-crowned Warblers and a single Warbling Vireo as well.
