I did some birding in Lewis county today. Mainly working the Willipa Hills Trail from Riverside Rd. to Doty, with a stop at Rainbow Falls State Park and a clear cut on Meskill Rd.

My first section of the trail was off Dieckman Rd. walking eastward. Here I had,
COMMON YELLOWTHROAT - lots
YELLOW WARBLER - 1
ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER - 1
MARSH WREN - several
WOOD DUCK - 2
AMERICAN KESTREL - 1
CINNAMON TEAL - 1
RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD - 1
SCRUB JAY - 2

The next section was the trail near Adna. Here I had,
HAIRY WOODPECKER - 1
ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER
WILSON'S WARBLER
BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER
WOOD DUCK - 2
PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER - several
BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK - 1
BAND-TAILED PIGEON - 15

Next was a stop at Rainbow Falls State Park. Here I had,
PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER - several
HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHER - 2
BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER - 3
WILSON'S WARBLER - 1
HERMIT WARBLER - 1
The flycatchers and Hermit Warbler were in the stand of trees on the right side when you come into the park, across from the group camping area and small bathroom.

The Meskill Rd. clearcut produced a few birds. I had,
WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW - lots
RED-TAILED HAWK - 1
TOWNSEND'S WARBLER - 2
TOWNSNED'S SOLITAIRE - 1 (seen in the clearcut and again in the stand of trees)

And finally, the trail between Riverside Rd. and Tune Rd. produced,
BUSHTIT
BALD EAGLE - 1
NORTHERN HARRIER - 1
RING-NECKED PHEASANT - 1
LESSER SCAUP - 4
BUFFLEHEAD - 1
