Thanks for the report. When I saw the subject line I was going to ask for details, but the content seems clear enough. Last weekend at the Shorebird festival we had a very white large gull that could have been a hybrid or albino, but was not a pure Galucous (although from a distance it looked good, and not everyone agreed with this conclusion). Did not have the clean bi-colored bill and structure was not quite right. That bird was heavily worn as well. There was a "good" Glaucous at Westport however. By the way, this is pretty late but not the latest I have for the county. My records have a 5/9/98 from Tweit in Oly, and a 5/10/99 bird at Nisqually (Shelmerdine).

Subject: Glaucous Gull -- Olympia



On May 2, I saw a pure white gull fly over me across the 4th Ave bridge in Olympia. Today (5/6) about 5:30 pm, I got a good look at a Glaucous Gull on Percival Landing. Its an all white bird with the pink & black beak of a second winter bird.
