Good Evening All,
MerryLynn and I just returned home from birding out in a beautiful day. We saw a good number of year birds and several rare birds for this county.
The Walla Walla River delta was high water with just a small area of exposed mud. Thousands of carp were spawning. We call them river dolphins as they jump and splash with vigor. Birds observed today are as follows....

Barn Owl-1 ad. in lava tube with 5 chicks.
Bullock's Oriole.....................5 males &1 female, YB

Long-billed Dowitchers-9 birds,YB
Dunlin.............................1 ad.
Am. White Pelican......14 birds in fine breeding horn.
Western Grebe..............217 birds, this is the largest number we have ever seen off this delta. Several pair were up and running.
Clark's Grebe................1 ad.
Caspian Tern.............107 birds
Forsters Tern.................7 birds,YB
Am. Wigeon..................63 birds
Gadwall...........................4 birds
Blue-winged Teal.........3 drakes,YB
Cinnamon Teal..............5 drakes
Green-winged Teal.......5 pair
N.Pintail.........................14 birds
Herring Gull.....................3 birds
Glaucous-winged Gull..2 birds
Common Goldeneye.....20 birds
