Dear Tweeters,

I just got word that a Brewer's Sparrow has been seen at Newhalem for the past several days. The bird was found by Bob Wilkerson of the Institute for Bird Population Studies (I may have the organization's name slightly off).

This bird is being seen across Highway 20 from the Newhalem Store. That's way up in the eastern part of Whatcom County.

I see in Terry Wahl's book on Whatcom County birds that there was one previous record in the early 1990's near Bellingham; perhaps this week's bird is only the second record for Whatcom County?

Yours truly,
