Today (5-10-10) is the first day of reports that 4 Purple Martins are
back around the gourds between the ferry dock and public pier in
Edmonds. Of the 7 or 8 new plastic gourds we hung last year, only 4
remain. I have 3 new ones and no way to get them out there and
attached at the moment. After last year's spotty martin nesting
around the Sound, we'll be lucky if all four gourds get used. We'll
be keeping an eye on them.
