All,
This morning before work I was able to get in a short trip to the Nisqually Refuge. I was on site from about 0615 to 0730. The short list of sightings includes the following: Solitary Sandpiper (1); Wilson Phalarope (2); 5 Blue-winged Teal; at least 6 pairs of Cinnamon Teal; a lingering White-fronted Goose; and a first-of year Swainson?s Thrush. I talked with Dennis Ellison, who walks the refuge most days. He noted the Phalaropes and the first Blue-winged Teal this past Sunday, May 9.
Cheers and good birding,
Bill Shelmerdine, Olympia
