Today I made a short trip to Three Forks Park in Snoqualmie. A fine place to go birding!!
Highlights:
Spotted Sandpiper - making a lot of noise by the river
Great Horned Owl - a young one in the woods begging for food and an adult nearby
Red-breasted Sapsucker - 2 or more
Hammond's Flycatcher - seen and heard
Swainson's Thrush - several "whitting"; 1 seen; my first of season
Nashville Warbler - 1 silent bird near where the Least Flycatcher was last year
Bullock's Oriole - 1 seen and another heard
Purple Finches - performing a variety of vocalizations, including their Cassin's Vireo number
