Hi Tweeters,

Had an exciting day at Semiahmoo Spit in Blaine yesterday (5/15/10). While
most of the western sandpipers (only 8 left) and dunlin (only 2 left) have
moved on, a flock of 14 SANDERLINGS and one SEMIPALMATED PLOVER were present
on the west side of the spit at high tide. Many COMMON TERNS have also
showed up and were circling the spit. A completely unexpected find was a
WESTERN MEADOWLARK in the gravel field in the middle of the spit. A few
WHIMBRELS were still present at the Blaine Marine Park as well.

On our feeders in Bellingham today we had 10 EVENING GROSBEAKS at one time.
It was quite a spectacle, and they were making quite a racket. They have
been present for the last few weeks but with only a few at a time. Also had
2 BLACK HEADED GROSBEAKS on our feeders as well. Happy Birding.
