hi group ... did the loop at Steigerwald Refuge yesterday ... it was
most entertaining at the Purple Martin gourds ... Tree Swallows were
building nests in the gourds and the Purple Martins apparently didn't
want them there ... constant bickering going on with Purple Martins
chasing the Tree Swallows away ... I counted 3 pairs of Purple
Martins and at least 5 pairs of Tree Swallows ...

other nice "highlights" were a male Western Tanager and a male
Bittern in beautiful courtship plumage !!!
