Hi All,

I arrived at work this morning to find a Western Wood-Pewee calling on top
of a snag next to the path that leads up to the building. I went inside and
put my things down by my desk and exited the building again to get a better
look at the pewee. As I walked out the front door I noticed a lot of
movement in the trees above me. Over the course of the following 15 minutes
I saw about a dozen Western Tanagers, Several Wilson?s Warblers, an
Orange-crowned Warbler, a Warbling Vireo, A Pacific-Slope Flycatcher, an
additional Western Wood-Pewee (which was chased by the first pewee), Spotted
Towhees, Dark-eyed Juncos with fledglings in tow, American Robins, Bushtits
and an American Crow pursuing an Osprey from east to west across the
property. I also saw a very agitated female Rufous Hummingbird that was
chasing every bird that came close to a specific alder tree in which she
likely has a nest.

I finally had to tear myself away to get some work done. Would it have been
wrong to call in sick and then just stand out in front of the building
birding all day? :o)

Happy Birding!
