Hi, Tweets

Bill and I spend interesting Saturday nights counting swifts at the
Frank Wagner School in Monroe. We thought numbers were dwindling, but
we had hordes of the little guys swarming over the school last night
- much like some days in the fall. Our total was 5,115. A crow
visited the chimney edge for a bit but got bored when none would fly
in thereby making it necessary for him to go elsewhere for his evening snack.

My summer birds have finally arrived. The black-headed grosbeak,
Pacific-coast flycatcher, etc., plus there are fledgling juncos and
Anna's hummingbirds. Nothing unusual, but all are interesting.

Cheers, Diann
