The Monroe Frank Wagner Elementary School communal migratory roost
site had its highest count of the year last night with 6,000 plus
Vaux's Swifts.

If they don't get a tail wind a lot of them MAY sick around for a
day. If there is afternoon rain the swifts will often end up
attempting to just beat the big drops to the chimney roost. If that
happens much before 4 PM and it clears off they are likely to come
back out.

This last week they have been tracking lots of Black Swifts headed
north through Santa Barbara County. Connie Sidles has confirmed that
some of them have now made it as far north as the fill.
