For the first time ever, there is a Brown Cowbird couple here today--male
and female. I saw the male a few days ago, but ignored him in hopes he
would go away, but today, he was back with a female. This was a common
species in NW Missouri when I lived there, but I didn't know they lived
in western Washington until I consulted Sibley. I hope they are just
passing through!

Also, Purple Finches and American Goldfinches appear to have taken up
residence. The white-crowned sparrows are back today also as are
fifteen Band-tailed Pigeons!
