We chased the blue skies, or at least rain free skies to Anacortes on Saturday. Along S. March Pt Rd, west of the Swinomish Northern Lights Casino, we saw several GBH flying from the south end of Padilla Bay into the tall trees on the south side of the road, many of them carrying sticks. We pulled over and looked into the bay. I counted 175 and there were more because I could see that some were hidden. I've seen scads of GBH here before, but not that many. If you follow this link, we were standing at the point where the S March Point Rd approaches the railroad tracks, a little east of the Red "map pin".

Birds seen at Bowman Bay:
Western Tanager, pair
White-crowned Sparrow
American Robin
Starling
American Goldfinch
Pine Siskins
Song Sparrow
Bald Eagle
Rufous Hummingbird

Swainson's Thrush - heard
Flycatcher, no id
