Morning all,

Yesterday, on day 20 after the first eggs hatched one of the six surviving chestnut-backed chickadee chicks left the nest box at 12:15 PM. We expected the others to follow but they remained in the nest until this morning, and left over about an hour long period between 7:30 and 8:30 this morning. We've put short video clips (one from most days since the eggs hatched and one from today still being uploaded, as the nest box emptied out) from the nest box camera at http://www.flickr.com/photos/89985360 at N00/

We are not sure if the chick that fledged yesterday survived the night, and as they left this morning they seemed to scatter in different directions around the yard but both parents have been calling and hopefully rounding up all the chicks.
