Thanks to those who responded to my banded red knot question.

I submitted the observation to
<http://www.pwrc.usgs.gov/bbl/homepage/recwobnd.cfm
which is the site for auxillary bands only. All I saw (and photographed)
was a yellow leg streamer, with a black 435 on it. There may have been a
metal federal band also, but the bird was standing in water, and on one leg
at that, so I didn't see it.

I will post on Tweeters if I get a reply from the researcher involved.
