Hi Bob and Tweets

A week or so ago I was scouting my upcoming WOS Conference (Wenatchee) Swauk Pass trip I was out with Dan Stephens. When we arrived at the Camas Meadow area at the end of Camas Creek Rd., Dan commented that we should watch in the meadow for Sandhill Cranes. Apparently, a few birds are in the area in the summer. Dan didn't mention anything about nesting, but did mention the regularity of their being there.

On May 28 I saw a single Sandhill Crane flying over a fairly remote area in the Wenatchee Mts., near the end of Camas Ck. Rd. Since its long past their typical migration, one might speculate about possible nesting in a mountain meadow up there somewhere; but it could also have just been a lone bird moving around.



Any thoughts?
