Subject: [Tweeters] King Co Slate-Colored Junco

I took advantage of a gorgeous morning to hike Little Si near North Bend. On
the lower part of the trail, there was a slate-colored junco feeding with
all the usual Oregon types. I also saw more Pacific wrens than in any one
day ever - at one point I had three in view simultaneously.



Back down at the car park, I watched a red-tailed hawk drop down into the
blackberries and emerge with a (I think) garter snake. Not what I would have
picked for classic hawk diet, but I suppose flexibility is the secret of
their success...
