Hello Tweeters,

This afternoon I saw the first Scrub Jay I've ever seen in my 20 years at Seattle University, and was all excited to report it to you...then tonight I read yesterday's and today's extended series of postings both con and pro reporting them. So it's with some trepidation that I report this observation - but here it is anyway!

When I lived in Madison Valley in 2001-2003, I reported a Scrub Jay one year and then took photos of a successful breeding (2 fledged young) in a subsequent year, and the word from Tweeters at the time was that this was notable. So I've appreciated all the reports of Scrub Jay sightings; it helps me feel somehow part of this apparently broad/sustained range expansion. I'd be happy to continue reading such reports.

Good birding to you,
Trileigh
