Leah,

Most birders, expert or not, are friendly, humble people, and welcome
input from any bird enthusiast regardless of experience. It is
unfortunate that occasionally you may run into someone who is "above"
others who don't have such a fat life list as they do, or thrill to a
species that is common (I still get thrilled by close looks at
Steller's Jays; they may be common, but they're also handsome.). Just
remember, it's their problem, not yours. And I would encourage you to
keep posting things on Tweeters.
