In the post-dawn light at the lighthouse, without a scope, I was unable to identify four large white birds flying south down the sound, very low to the water. They were not Snow Geese; they might have been a species of Swan. If I had to bet, would say they were Great Egrets. Anybody else see them? Otherwise it was a terrific moment for marine mammals with numbers of Harbor Seals, Calif Sea-lions, River Otters in evidence and about twenty Killer Whales in small groups, also heading south.
