>From March-July 2010, Washington Birder undertook a review of abundance codes for all 39 County Checklists. Codes were adjusted based on Matt Bartels County Yearlist Project, years 2007-2009 and recommendations from the County Compilers, on specific suggestions and sighting information from many active county birders, a review of Washington Birds Records Committee Reports 1-7 and November 2009 and also sightings reported to eBird. This information provided new species to some checklists and presented sightings documentation that allowed several code (5) species to be moved up to code (4). Many other codes were adjusted up or down to reflect current status.

Again, in November 2010, Washington Birder updated checklists, adding ?County Firsts? for July-October 2010 and making taxonomic order and name changes so the checklists were consistent with American Ornithologists Unions? 7th Check-list of North American Bird, 51st Supplement, published in August 2010.
