Hi Tweeterians,
I want to thank everybody who gave me feedback on dominant male Anna's
Hummingbirds. Lately I have had two hummingbird feeders hanging outside
my kitchen windows, about three or four feet from each other. Even
before "Attila the Hummer" came along, I never saw the other
hummingbirds at both feeders simultaneously. If one hummer was feeding
at one feeder and another came to the other, there would be an
immediate chase by whoever was there first. Hummingbirds are definitely
not into sharing!
I will now hang one of the feeders on the other side of the house.
It's not a real conspicuous location, but hopefully the subordinate
juvs. and female will find it. It's worth a try. I love having that
gorgeous male around to look at, but I also enjoyed the others , and
want them to have their drinks too.
